Evolve Massage & Alternative Healing began with a simple vision. In 2011, founder Valerie Chastain was working full-time at a spa, while also renting a small room in an attorney’s office to see clients on the side. She believed massage was more than just a luxury—it was powerful pain therapy and an essential part of mental and emotional well-being. Val dreamed of creating a studio that went beyond the spa model, one where every session was personalized and focused on real healing.
In 2014, she teamed up with Michael Disko, who shared her passion for therapeutic massage and her vision for building something bigger. Together, they grew that side-gig into Evolve Massage & Alternative Healing. Within six months, they had opened their own space on Highland Avenue. Two years later, they welcomed Ian Krusinski as a partner and moved into a larger Southside office, before eventually finding a home in the heart of Homewood.
Today, Evolve has grown into a thriving wellness center with five therapy rooms, a talented team of therapists, and a vibrant retail shop. Alongside massage therapy, our menu has expanded to include alternative healing services such as Reiki, sound healing, meditation, and health coaching. Our metaphysical shop offers handpicked crystals, candles, books, chocolate, jewelry, and more—carefully chosen to support our clients’ wellness journeys.
